The 4D4F-team from Innovation from Agriculture (UK) have been travelling around Europe, trying to capture tips & tricks from dairy farmers for managing new sensor technologies. These best practice tips were compiled into a series of short videos. This week, we present you the video on reproduction.
Judith Roelofs from HAS University, discusses setting the threshold for heat detection, and the decisions a farmer should consider when deciding what to invest in. Gerard Griffioen demonstrates how an ear tag can be used to collect heat information, and the benefits of its use over other technologies. Annica Hansson introduces HerdNavigator and Patrik Boner, a Swedish dairy farmer then describes how he uses the HerdNavigator technology to improve his heat detection, and the implementation of standard operating procedures for efficient insemination time.
